Avorkliyah Richmond, better known by his stage name Agbantuvi, formerly Fire Prophet, is steadily emerging as one of Ghana’s most promising musical talents.
Born on October 4, 1984, in Aflao, Volta Region, and raised in Kedzi and Dzodze, Agbantuvi’s journey from a young music enthusiast to a celebrated reggae and afrobeat artist is one of dedication, resilience, and vision.
Early Life and Passion for Music
From an early age, Richmond displayed a natural affinity for music. Singing in church and playing traditional instruments like the fitua, he spent countless hours honing his craft in secret, balancing his schoolwork with his growing passion for rhythm and melody. His determination led him to spend over two months in a music studio in Tema, pursuing his dream without informing anyone.
He attended Dzodze-Penyi Senior High School and later pursued higher education at Central University, earning a BSc (Hons) in Physician Assistantship in 2015. A strong advocate for peace, he further enhanced his skillset with a Certificate in Conflict Resolution and Management from the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) in 2018. During his school days, he also served as Director of Music, honing his leadership and creative abilities.
A Rising Star in Ghanaian Music
Agbantuvi’s musical career spans over a decade, during which he has cultivated a distinct sound blending reggae, afrobeat, and socially conscious lyrics. He founded his record label, Avork Riddims Generation, with strong family support, enabling him to record and release numerous tracks that resonate with fans. His popular songs include Worship Jah, Girl Child Education, Black Skin, Mother-in-Law, Caged Talents, Death, and Gods Love.
His talent first gained national attention in 2009 when he placed third in Season 1 of Ghana’s Talent Music Show. In 2024, he further cemented his reputation by winning Ghana’s Most Promising Stars in the Music category. Agbantuvi has worked with some of Ghana’s top studios, including Pizzaro Beatz (Dzodze), Dreadkingdom Rhythmz Studio (Tema), Brainworkzbeat Studio (Kasoa), Nyabinghi Studio (Ashaiman), and Jungle Yaard Studio (Mataheko).
His music has also caught the attention of media, with radio interviews hosted by Mac Wonder and DJ Smooth, and a one-on-one session with Don Holy TV on YouTube, helping him connect with an ever-growing fanbase.
