Nollywood actor-turned-politician Desmond Elliot has brushed off recent rumours about his sexuality, which surfaced after a blog post listed him among several Nigerian celebrities allegedly involved in same-sex relationships.
The list, which included prominent actors and celebrities, quickly ignited public backlash and intense speculation on social media.
In an interview with TVC, Elliot dismissed the rumours as baseless, stating he has no time to address such claims.
"Why would I respond to allegations made against me when it did not reduce or increase my life?" he questioned.
"Secondly, it is an opinion being conceived," he continued. "I don’t think it’s necessary for me to come out and say it’s true or not true; as long as I’m affecting people positively, I’m good."
Elliot affirmed his stance, stating clearly, "I am straight. You can never have anyone straighter than me."
He emphasised that while everyone is free to live as they choose, he remains focused on his work and will not be distracted by such rumours.
