Ghanaian musician Kweku Darlington has set his sights on collaborating with legendary highlife icon Daddy Lumba, an achievement he says would mark the pinnacle of his career.

In an interview on BTM Afrika with NY DJ, the “Sika Kankan” hitmaker shared that working with Daddy Lumba has been a lifelong dream.

Darlington, who just dropped his new single "W'aye Awie," revealed that if this dream collaboration happens, it could even signal the end of his music career.

"I would love to record with Daddy Lumba, the great man," Darlington said.

He added, "At first, I dreamt of working with Okyeame Kwame, which materialized, so Daddy Lumba is next.

“I may even retire from music if it happens. Working with someone the country considers the GOAT [Greatest of All Time] will not be an easy achievement because I want to be counted among the best."

However, Darlington acknowledges the challenge of securing such a collaboration.

He said, "It doesn't happen often—it's usually Daddy Lumba featuring someone else, not the other way around. But I've been told he appreciates my music, so I remain hopeful."

Daddy Lumba, celebrated for hits like "Theresa," "Aben W’aha," and "Mensei Da," is a towering figure in Ghana's music industry, known for his lyrical genius and timeless songs.
