Award-winning Ghanaian actor Williams Sakyi Asumadu has been casted in “Nana Akoto” by Kwabena Gyansah—the Ghanaian director whose movie was selected to represent Ghana at the 92nd Oscars in 2018.
The highly acclaimed series is being aired on DSTV Akwaaba Magic channel 150 and GOTV channel 102.
In the role, Sakyi-Asumadu portrays a warrior who disguises himself as a lead merchant and helped extract the king's son from the dungeons of his enemies.
Director Kwabena Gyansah said he gave Sakyi Asumadu the role because "Williams is a great actor and he doesn’t underestimate any role given to him."
The director expressed satisfaction with Williams' delivery and acting skills.
The actor took to his Instagram handle to announce how happy he was to be part of the "Nana Akoto" series.
Williams sakyi Asumadu is an award winning actor, productions manager, line producer, sound engineer and a script writer in Ghana.
He has won several awards in the Ghanaian film industry for his outstanding performances and crew work.
In 2020, he was nominated as the best productions manager at the Ghana Filmmakers Awards and won due to his experience in filmmaking.
In 2021 the actor won best indigenous producer at the ZAFAA GLOBAL AWARDS in London for the movie “AMEN.”
Williams sakyi Asumadu has managed many movie productions in Ghana including “AMEN,” “YANTAH,” “ODASANII,” “ASEM MPE NIPA,” “KUME PREKO,” and more.
He has impressed Ghanaian audiences with his acting skills and performances in local content.
