'I take the bullet for myself' —  MOGmusic reveals why he got disqualified from the Grammy nomination list

Ghanaian gospel musician MOGmusic, born Nana Yaw Boakye, has admitted to a mistake on his part that led to his disqualification from the Grammy nomination list.

The artist had initially sparked excitement among his fans by announcing that his album "Koinonia Phase II" was under consideration for a Grammy Award.

Despite high hopes for nominations in categories such as Best Gospel Album, Album of the Year, and Best New Artist, MOGmusic faced disappointment when the final nominations were unveiled.

Speaking in an interview with Hitz FM, the gospel artist took full responsibility for the oversight, explaining that the inclusion of the official Grammy logo on a promotional flyer was an error made by his social media team.

This mistake subsequently led to his disqualification from the awards.

"My social media handler made a mistake and put the official logo of the Grammys, and it got posted. Some Ghanaians drew my attention to it, and we quickly took it down, but it was too late. That is what went wrong on my side, it’s a mistake that my team made, and I take the bullet for myself," MOGmusic humbly stated.

Despite facing this setback, MOGmusic called for unity and support within the Ghanaian music community.

He urged Ghanaians to refrain from mocking artists who did not receive Grammy nominations and stressed the importance of fostering a supportive atmosphere.

"One piece of advice I have for Ghanaians is that I think we need to be very supportive.

“Davido submitted his work time and time again, but he just got his nominations. I never saw Nigerians trolling Davido or comparing him to Burna Boy.

“I think what we should do is be more united so that these people will realise that there is a group of people from Ghana who support their people or go all out for their people," MOGmusic emphasised.
