The offices of TV at the Madina Estate in Accra were gutted by fire, which reports say destroyed the station's studios with ultramodern equipment.
The unfortunate incident occurred on Sunday afternoon and it took personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service some time before they could douse the fire.
This portal is yet to ascertain the cause of the fire as it is still unclear how it started.
Footages from the scene of the fire show various departments of the media house were burnt to ashes.
The station's channel has since gone off air.
The screen remained dark as it couldn't broadcast.
Angel is a subsidiary of the Angel Broadcasting Services, a media company, which is very popular and influential in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. It has presence on two main platforms: television and radio.
It operates Accra-based Angel TV, digital television station as well as a number of commercial radio stations, including: Angel 96.1FM and Pure 95.7FM in (Kumasi), Angel 102.9FM in Accra, Angel 92.3FM and Cheers 94.9FM (Sunyani), and Cheers 94.5 (Koforidua). It is the TV station in Accra that has been affected by the fire, according to reports, as the radio station operates from Abeka Lapaz.
