Agona Swedru-based artist, Patapaa, at the weekend led a three-hour clean-up exercise in Agona Swedru in the Central Region, to clean the community of filth to ensure a healthy environment.
The "One Corner" hitmaker was joined by other artists and celebrities including Article Wan, Susum, Young Cash, MC Fergurson and Pa2Pa Sojas (fans of Patapaa), as they cleaned gutters and other filth filled places in Agona Swedru.
Authorities of the Agona West Municipal Assembly and Environmental and Health Officers also took part in the exercise.
The clean-up exercise was part of the National Sanitation Day Exercise and also maintain a healthy environment.

The National Sanitation Day Exercise, observed on the first Saturday of every month, is geared towards cleaning the environment and inculcate in citizens the need to keep their surroundings clean at all times.
Patapaa in an interview said a cleaned community translates into a healthy people and a healthy nation and called on all stakeholders to take part in community-related activities.
Frank Freebody Mensah, the Manager of Patapaa said the clean-up exercise also formed part of activities of the "Agona to the World" concert; a music talent hunt show initiated by Patapaa to unearth musical talents in Agona Swedru.

He said the "Agona to the World" concert, would be organised on the first Saturday of every month after the clean-up exercise.
Mr Mensah noted that it was important for the public to see clean-up exercise as a civic responsibility and avoid throwing waste and rubbish into open drains.
He, therefore, called for an attitudinal change in the ways that waste was disposed of “otherwise the campaign will be defeated.”
