Popular British-Ghanaian radio DJ and media personality Simon Boateng well known as DJ Abrantee who has spent the past 8 months in hospital and rehabilitation due to stroke has been discharged.
Exclusive pictures obtained by Ghana’s Hub For Pop Culture & Urban Entertainment News – www.nydjlive.com see DJ Abrantee, who has been a great force in the Afrobeats movement walk out of the hospital side by side with his beloved mum and long-term girlfriend May7ven who flew her in.
Quite a happy moment for DJ Abrantee, the mum, a resident of Kumasi, Ghana who had not visited the UK for over 30 years (although Abrantee visited her almost 3 times every year because they are extremely close) arrived in the country a day before Abrantee was discharged from the hospital.
Our source tells us DJ Abrantee was discharged to continue with his rehabilitation and receive private care which is expected to over and above what the National Health Scheme would provide. Her mum who was granted a visa on compassionate grounds is also expected to take other responsibilities concerning his upkeep.
Although Abrantee has a long way to go, the news comes as great doing of God considering the fact that the initial prognosis of Abrantee’s illness was not a good one and was told chances of recovery or survival was extremely slim.
Days ago, DJ Abrantee shared a picture of himself standing after an MRI scan at the Hospital of St. John & St. Elizabeth.
With The captioned it saying;
“Every day is a new start. A new chapter to turn everything around. We can make our plans but the Lord determines our steps – Proverbs16:9. They said I would never walk again 9 months ago but here I am standing strong and pressing on! Still a long way to go. Just another MRI…”
