Ghanaian rapper, Elorm Adabla, more commonly known by his stage name EL, has this year wrestled the 'Rapper of the Year' award from his contemporaries, Sarkodie, Edem and Guru.
EL was crowned the best of them all at the Vodafone Ghana Music Award ceremony held at the Accra International Conference Centre, Saturday night.
Many had pegged Sarkodie as the most viable contender for this category ahead of the colorful ceremony dubbed, 'Ignited by Passion and Powered by 25 million fans'.
Both Sarkodie and EL have something in common – the insatiable desire to use rap music to demand accountability and encourage social decorum.
EL, receiving the award said he owes it to everyone who has 'ever supported' him in his endeavors.
EL, who is also record producer-cum-sound engineer, recently launched his newest track, State of the Nation .
