
The launch of the third season of music reality show, MTN Hitmaker, came with some new additions to the family. Edward Nana Poku Osei known as Hammer replaces music producer Zapp Mallet whiles Peace Hyde replaces Nana Aba Anamoah.
Richard Acheampong, General Manager in charge of Marketing Services said the introduction of the new faces is to enhance the programme and keep in line with bring innovation to the show.
Hammer
Well-known music producer and recording engineer, Edward Nana Poku Osei, better known as Hammer of the Last Two, has joined the MTN Hitmaker music talent contest as a judge.
Hammer who is the CEO of the Last Two Music Group is known for grooming and recording artistes such as Obrafour, Tinny, Kwaw Kesse, Edem and Sarkodie. He has replaced producer, engineer and guitarist, Zapp Mallet, on the programme.
“I think Hitmaker is a good platform. It has already initiated some new artistes into the industry.This year, I'm bringing my expertise on board, fully loaded in overdose,” Hammer said.
“Though I'm going to be painfully honest and painfully blunt, I'll help make sure that the good guys get to the top.”
Peace Hyde
“My name is Peace Hyde. I'm an actress, presenter, event host and voice-over artiste,” that was how the young lady from Gh One television introduced herself.
She has been selected to partner broadcaster and well-known Master of Ceremony, Bola Ray, on this year's programme. Bola emceed the first two editions with Nana Aba Anamoah of TV3.
“I'm really excited about the Hitmaker mainly because I'll co-host with the awesome Bola Ray. It is a brilliant opportunity to know the contestants and actually have access to their dreams.
“I bring my personality on board and I think that given how scary and stressful this whole period will be for the contestants, I think it would be good to have me on board just make sure that they don't have heart attacks and are able to perform and do the best.”
Between now and August 22, young musicians interested in the show can drop their demos at MTN branch offices across the country; upload demos on the MTNplay portal or drop their demos at partner radio stations.
The tag line for this year's contest is 'Dream It, Live It.'
