Joyce Blessing
The talented gospel music star, Joyce Blessing, who has carved a niche for herself in the gospel music industry in Ghana, made history when she took home five awards including the Gospel Artiste of the Year Award at the Ghana Gospel Industry Awards (GGIA).
The event held at the National Theatre in Accra on Sunday December 22, was organized by Adom FM to reward Ghanaian gospel music icons for their commitment, hard work and dedication in their music career.
Joyce Blessing, a seasoned spirit-filled gospel artiste who usually sweeps audiences off their feet whenever she performs on stage was therefore the gospel artiste to win the most awards. Other categories included Gospel Album of the Year, Popular Video of the Year, Gospel Song of the Year and Best Female Vocal awards.
The event, which was instituted some years ago by Adom FM, an Accra-based radio station, seeks to foster the development of the Ghanaian gospel music industry and reward those in the industry who have excelled in their gospel music career.
This year, 16 industry players were rewarded for their hard work, dedication and contribution to the gospel music industry.
The awards which is an annual event, is also aimed at raising the standard of Ghanaian gospel music.
This year's event is expected to attract a large number of gospel musicians and the stakeholders in the music and copyright sector as well as gospel music fans across the country.
