Veteran Nollywood actor, Kanayo O. Kanayo, aka KOK, has been appointed the Chairman of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism Studies (NIHTS).
The thespian was among those who made the list of newly appointed chairmen and members of the governing boards of 42 Federal Government agencies and parastatals.
The appointments were announced on Wednesday in a statement signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Anyim Pius Anyim.
KOK, as he is fondly called, had been romancing President Jonathan's administration before his appointment. He has been one of the major liaisons between the Federal Government and Nollywood.
Acknowledging the appointment, KOK, real name Anayo Modestus Onyekwere, took to his Twitter account to tweet it, 'Thank you, Lord for this responsibility! Like Solomon, I plead for your wisdom.'
With this appointment, KOK, 51, joins actors like RMD, Bob Manuel Udokwu, Hilda Dokubo and Nkiru Sylvanus who have at one time or another taken up political appointments.
