Richie Mensah promised to amaze fans this Valentine's Day and he pulled it off. Nana Serwaa, turned out to be the lucky fan who got the rare opportunity to hang out with her favorite artiste and have him serenade her live on stage to the amazement of guests at the “THIS IS LOVE” Concert.
That was however, just one of the many highlights of the Val's day concert that promised and delivered good music, amazing performances and lots of love.
It was indeed a scene to behold and a lovers' experience to relish on Thursday night at the plush African Regent Hotel.
Guests were welcomed with treats of chocolate and drinks, as they took in the lush decor at the poolside of the African Regent Hotel.
The night got off to a mellow start with a soothing spoken word piece from Nenebi Tony;guests were then thrown into a romantic journey of sorts kicked off by fast rising singer, Akwaboah, before D3's Vera, stole everyone's heart with an heartfelt solo rendition.
All three members of D3 would later join Richie Mensah to perform their hit collabo, "Gyanyi Gyanyi" but not before Vera and Richie Mensah did a duet for the latter's hit cover, "London."
Also billed to perform on the night was Gh's leading female songbird,Efya, who was at her usual best delivering a refreshing performance, the highlight of which, was her anticipated first ever rendition of "Body", her cover of Chris Brown's "Please dont judge me" which was also released online for downloads the same night.
The biggest act of the night though, was undoubtedly, Richie Mensah, who looked every bit the multi-talented singer and performer fans have come to adore over the years.
In his first major performance in almost a year, he took guests on a melodious journey bringing back our favourite songs from his repertoire including, "When I get You", "Frema," “Yaaro” and a host of others. Fans were also introduced to his latest works and were seemingly pleased and thrilled by "This is Love" and his brand new highlife banger, "Awula", which he performed for the very first time on the night.
A night of many firsts, as well as the intermittent "ooos" and "aaahs" from the audience as they enjoyed every minute of the 2 hour concert which will now become an annual affair taking place on Valentine's Day.
Sightings at the concert included, Iyiola and Theresa Ayoade of Charterhouse, BECCA, Kiki Banson, Peace fm's Billy Ocean, Okyeame Kwame, Big J[Praye], Yaw Sakyi, Flexy [YFM] and a host of others.
