Nine couples who worship at the Nshorna District of the Church of Pentecost in Accra, over the weekend tired the knot in a mass wedding ceremony. The couple took the matrimonial oaths to pledge their love and commitment to their respective spouses at the solemn but colourful ceremony.
The event, which brought together the nine lucky couples, attracted hundreds of people including friends and families of the couples, who witnessed the beautiful ceremony.
Apostle J.F Asante Ayeh, head pastor of the church, who officiated the event, noted that the purpose of the mass wedding was to give couples who had in one way or the other engaged without a proper wedding, the opportunity to bring their marriages before the throne of God and to make lasting vows to God.
He explained that marriage is a life -long venture and therefore couples should have a wedding to solidify their marriage.
Apostle Asante-Ayeh also added that the well attended event was also to afford the coups the opportunity to go through the ordinance process so that their marriage would be registered under the ordinance to protect the spouses and children in the unlikely event of death.
