FOLLOWING ITS outstanding performance on the music scene, Ghana's hiplife duo, Ruff N Smooth, made history when it won the Ghana Music Group of the Year category at the awards ceremony organized by the famous Citi People Entertainment in Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria.
The City People Entertainment Awards is meant to reward and recognize deserving personalities that excelled in their field of endeavour in the previous year.
Music sensation Becca won the Best Female Artiste from Ghana award whilst Actress Jackie Appiah was awarded Best Actress from Ghana.
Ruff N Smooth was the only youngest West African group to have made such an achievement and the only Ghanaian hiplife group to have won a prestigious award.
The duo, Ricky Nana Agyeman and Clement Baafo, who are currently being managed by Empire Entertainment, a company managed by Bola Ray, had a breakthrough with their hit songs Swagger and Sex Machine.
Ruff and Smooth, which was formed a year and some months ago, has featured in major international performances around the world and in Ghana.
The duo recently made music fans dance their hearts out when they were featured at a music concert organized by Vodafone.
They got the concert rolling with their popular Swagger, followed by Sex Machine. The reception they received showed that fans were charged up to enjoy a wonderful concert.
Apart from their award from Nigeria, the group was nominated for the Afro Pop Song of the Year award at the Ghana Music Awards held in April this year.
