The Managing Director of the Mine, Mr David Kwesi Renner, said the health of the employees has become a priority to the management and it was being handled with all the seriousness it deserved.

He told the employees to take part in the exercise to remain healthy so as to avoid repercussion such as stroke, heart attack, kidney failure, arthritis and sudden death, “because a healthier lifestyle will impact positively on production”.

Mr Renner said the company had been promoting HIV/AIDS education among its employees and host communities, but management has now turned its attention to the 'metabolic syndromes' like hypertension, diabetes, high blood cholesterol levels and obesity, which was on the increase according to medical report from the Sam Jonah Clinic, the company's medical centre.
