As part of the Modern Gospel Awards’ 5th Anniversary Celebration, the awards scheme partnered with the CCM Women Fellowship to honor and celebrate virtuous women in a memorable and impactful event.

Held on Sunday, 4th May 2025, the Women’s Fellowship of Center for Christ Mission Church International (Achimota Abofu) hosted a vibrant and spirit-filled church service dedicated to women, especially mothers. The event, themed “Virtuous Women Week,” aimed to empower women in the church and recognize their vital roles — particularly as mothers of the gospel creatives being celebrated by the awards scheme.

The service included Bible study, praise and worship, ministrations, preaching, and more, all centered around uplifting women in ministry. The sermon was delivered by Rev. Charlotte Oduro, a renowned marriage counselor.

After the service, host Debbielyn Jackson interviewed Madam Ellen Ama Osei Mamphey, affectionately known as Auntie Ama, President of the Women Fellowship. When asked to advise women, she shared:
“The only advice I can offer is that no matter the challenges they face in marriage, women should never abandon their children. Children must always be their top priority. Regardless of how a marriage turns out, mothers must commit to supporting and caring for their children.”

In a separate interview, Nana Amo Baffour, Country Director of the Modern Gospel Awards, expressed his joy about the collaboration. He stated:
“It is a great privilege to partner with the Women Fellowship to celebrate mothers — because they gave birth to the gospel creatives our scheme is here to honor.”

Guest Preacher Rev. Charlotte Oduro also shared further insights during her interview with Debbielyn Jackson. She advised young women not to be discouraged by delayed success, warning that frustration can lead to choices that harm their future.
She went on to encourage everyone to love and care for their mothers — even if a man of God claims their mother is a witch.
“No matter what you’re told, never stop loving or respecting your mother,” she said.
Rev. Oduro concluded by urging pastors to use wisdom and discretion when delivering prophecies, especially those involving someone’s mother.

According to Auntie Ama, the CCM Women Fellowship is one of Ghana’s most impactful Christian women’s groups, known for its spiritual growth initiatives, empowerment activities, and strong support system. She encouraged all women — regardless of their denomination — to join the fellowship and be part of its vision.

The event was a great success, thanks to detailed planning and the unwavering support of the church’s leadership, especially the Founder and General Overseer, Rev. Evans O.D. Arthur.
