Health Ministry Pushes Digital Revolution in Food and Drug Regulation

The Ministry of Health is calling for greater innovation and digitalisation in the regulation of food, medicines, cosmetics and other products in Ghana.
Speaking on behalf of the Minister of Health at the FDA's 2025 Review Stakeholders Meeting in Accra, Chief Director Desmond Boateng said Ghana must embrace data-driven regulation, modern laboratory systems and risk-based approaches.
He said the reforms would help regulators identify safety risks earlier while improving regulatory efficiency.
