WAFA U16 prodigy Daniel Owusu was named best player at the just ended 2018 Next Generation Trophy in Salzburg, Austria.
Owusu is said to have dazzled and enchanted the technical team during three days of competition.
He scored a total of three goals including the 2-0 win over Red Bull Brasil 2-0 on Saturday as the Sogakope-based Academy won the prestigious tournament for the first time.
The 12-team tournament included Benfica, FC Bayern München, Flamengo Rio de Janeiro, FC Viitorul Constanta and Chelsea FC.
Others were FC Basel, RB Leipzig, New York Red Bulls, hosts Red Bull Akademie and Southampton FC.
WAFA were making their fourth appearance in the tournament.
They came close to winning it in 2015 but lost 4-3 on penalties to hosts FC Red Bull Salzburg.
