PaySwitch Presents GHC100,000 To GOC towards 2018 Winter Olympic Games

PaySwitch Company Ltd, a company that provides alternative payment processing services to banks and non-banking institutions has presented a cheque for 100,000ghc to the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) towards the 2018 Winter Olympic Games where Akwasi Frimpong would be representing Ghana in the skeleton event.

HE Kim Sungsoo, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea who was present at the ceremony on Tuesday at the GOC office at Ridge in Accra recollected the sporting relationship between Ghana and South Korea, especially in 1988 when Ghana participated in the Olympic Games in Seoul.

He praised Akwesi Frimpong for qualifying to make Africa proud and flying the flag of Ghana.

Kojo Choi, chairman and CEO of PaySwitch, who schooled in Ghana and took a Ghanaian name in 1999 presented the cheque for 100,000ghc and promised to support the Ghana Olympic Committee in initiatives that promote sports, peace, unity and success of young Ghanaians.

He expressed that the exploits of Frimpong encouraged them to make the presentation.

Jerry Shaib Ahmed, chef de mission for the 2018 PyeongChang Games thanked the Ambassador and PaySwitch for the donation and promised to inspire Frimpong to make an impression at the Games.

President of the GOC, Ben Nunoo Mensah expressed his gratitude to the Korean people and prayed that the cordial relationship would last forever. He noted that the support would be used judiciously and go a long way to motivate Frimpong to give off his best.

He hinted that the credibility of the GOC is at stake and hoped that other corporate bodies come on board to support the worthy cause.

Present at the ceremony were Nathan Annobi, president of PaySwitch and some members of the GOC executive board.
