Ghana President John Mahama has cut the sod for the construction of a 10,000-seater stadium for New Edubiase in the Adansi South District of the Ashanti Region.
The facility which is estimated to cost six million cedis will be borne by the Government of Ghana.
The stadium will also have volleyball and basketball courts for schools in Adansi, Asokwa, Fomena and Obuasi for their inter-schools and colleges sports.
President Mahama hopes the facility will help the town's Premier League club New Edubiase United.
