There are a lot of talents in the Ghana Premier League but certain players have distinguished themselves in the ongoing campaign.
One young player that has taken the Premier League by storm is Asante Kotoko's 18-year-old forward Dauda Mohammed. Dauda has become the Porcupine Warriors' prolific striker since Seidu Bancey left the club three seasons ago.
Asante Kooko started the season on a poor note which led to the sacking of coach David Duncan while the club's General Manager Opoku Nti position came under severe criticism.
The display of the young attacker in no doubt has kept Opoku Nti at post.
The appointment of Michael Osei as interim coach has seen the former Premier League champions rediscover their form started winning their matches.
But one player who made sure the club maintained their winning momentum in the league is Dauda Mohammed who joined Asante Kotoko junior team from third-tier side Global FC three years ago. He was scouted by Karim Zito.
After a season stint at the club's junior team he was graduated to the senior team by then coach Didi Dramani prior to the 2014/15 season.
He scored on his debut in a league game against Inter Allies, his late strike won the day for the Porcupine Warriors at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. Since then, the young forward has kept his goal scoring prowess.
Dauda prior to the ongoing campaign missed Kotoko's two opening fixtures due to an injury. He returned to full fitness in the club match day three against Medeama which ended 2-2 in Kumasi.
He scored in Kotoko's 3-1 home win over Liberty Professionals to open his season's goal scoring account. Dauda went on to score against Dreams FC and Dwarfs [he scored brace in Kotoko 3-0 win over Dwarfs]
However, the energetic forward climaxed the first half of the season by scoring his first league hat-trick to become Asante Kotoko's first player to score three goals in a match in nine years after Eric Bekoe now with Hasaacas. The latter struck three goals in Kotoko 5-0 win over Great Olympics.
Kotoko after 15 games have scored 17 goals, and out of those goals Dauda Mohammed haS netted 7 goals becoming the club's leading scorer in the ongoing campaign.
With the aforementioned statistics, it clearly shows that Dauda Mohammed is a player to watch in the future.
