Accra, Dec. 14, GNA - The National Under-17 team, the Black Starlets will begin the next phase of their qualifying series towards the Sixth Africa Youth Tournament in the first week of January.
The Starlets are scheduled to travel to Ethiopia to engage their Ethiopian counterparts in the final qualifiers in Addis Ababa on January 9 with the return encounter coming on in two weeks time.
In view of this, the technical team, headed by coach David Duncan in a Press Release copied to the GNA Sports has invited 22 players for camping at the Winneba Sports College in preparations for the game. The camping which begins on December 15, includes players such as Nana Bonsu, Emmanuel Ansong, Solomon Addy, Jonathan Quartey, Kennedy Korly, Ernest Danso, Charles Boateng, Peter Essien, Opoku Agyeman, James Tagoe, David Ofei, Ghandu Khassenu, Micheal Addo, David Telfer, George Appiah and Abubakar Awudu.
The rest are Victor Ayireh, Osei Banahene, Sadat Bukari, Fred Sarpong, Samuel Inkoom and Abdul Samed Opong.
Ghana, a dominant figure in juvenile competitions has been missing from two consecutive tournaments and is this time round determined to make amends by qualifying for the 2005 edition in Gambia.
