Freddy Adu has attracted plenty of attention for a PR promotion he pushed on Twitter overnight.
Long gone are the days when Adu was set to take over the world of football for the United States.
Without wishing the bash the midfielder, he seemed to blow his opportunity at greatness, and today he's currently playing for the Tampa Bay Rowdies in the North American Soccer League.
Adu posted a picture on social media of him vacuuming his house, while the picture included a small TV on table, a tall skinny plant in the corner, and bare yellow walls.
His picture carried the following message:
No mess can beat me thanks to my new @HooverUSA Cordless 2-In-1 Stick and Handheld Vacuum #NoCordNoBull #sponsored
Many people have jumped Adu's tweet to claim it shows how far the footballer's career has gone off the rails.
On the other hand, it's easy to construct an argument singling out the haters, while saying that if Adu can still make money pushing products then good for him.

@FreddyAdu you didn't need the hashtag mate, we can all tell that the only reason you're anywhere near that Hoover is because of money — Chelsea Dave (@MrDaveCFC) 2013-07-22 14:22:09.0
