Christiah Saba popularly known as Alonzo in football circles has commended Stephen Appiah for deciding to hang his boots and organize a Testimonial Match to celebrate the illustrious career.
Saba, a junior brother of Robert Saba, who together features for Accra Hearts of Oak in the mid1990s said when he heard of the programme in Germany, he was impressed and wanted to join the star players who would honour the game, but his tight schedule could not permit him to come down for the game, and wished that everything goes on well as planned.
He congratulated the organisers, Prime Val Media Consult led by Larry Opare Otoo and ably supported by media experts like Jerry Asare, William Ezah and others.
According to Alonzo who was a member of the Black Starlet 1995 and later joined German giants Bayern Munich, he always wants to end his career very soon and prayed that PrimeVal will organize a similar match for him.
He suggested that ex- players of the Black Stars should be made Ambassadors or attached to the various national team because they have gained a lot of experience over the years with various clubs in Europe and elsewhere.
Christian Saba wished Ghana Football well and hoped that Ghana qualifies for the World Cup again, but it would not be easy looking at the way the government is handling thw World Cup 2014 problems.
He was of the view that Ghanaians must accept the mistakes and work hard like the Germans who love football too much.
