French-born Ghanaian defender Dennis Appiah was in superb shape for Caen who condemned Olympique Lyon to a 3-0 defeat in the Ligue 1 on Saturday afternoon.
The 22-year-old former AS Monaco youth team player started the game for Caen at the Stade Michel d’Ornano as they recorded a memorable win.
The victory has pushed Caen further away from the relegation zone but might have to the end of the season to beat the drop.
Appiah was born to Ghanaian parents in Toulouse, France but has not represented the Western European country and could still play for Ghana if he is approached by the Ghana Football Association.
