Tony Yeboah's legendary status at Eintracht Frankfurt was relived after meeting a die-hard German fan who displayed a 20-year-old tattoo he has of the ex Ghana striker.
The 48-year-old enjoyed his most productive years as a professional during his five year stay with The Eagles.
After overcoming an initial monkey taunts and boos from the fans as the first black player to be in the Franfurt squad, Yeboah became an overnight success with his mesmerizing performances week-in and out in the Bundesliga.
His eye-catching displays led to the formation of the famous Zeugen Yeboahs (Yeboah's Witnesses) amongst the Franfurt fans and also paved the way for other Africans to be accepted in the then highly racial German society.
One of such fans who idolized the former Black Stars striker met up with him during a recent visit to Germany.
During the unofficial meeting, the fan ripped off his shirt to display a massive tattoo of the Ghanaian's iconic name and shirt number largely inscribed at his back.
The ex Ghana striker touched by the gesture, gave a warm embrace to the fan and made himself available for photo opportunities.
Yeboah was at his very best during his time at Frankfurt where he scored 68 goals in 123 appearances.
He subsequently joined Leeds United and Hamburg having emerged back-to-back top goalscorer in the German top flight.
