Asante Kotoko defender Abeiku Ainooson says he is inspired to take his game to the next level having been named the Best Player of the 2013/14 MTN FA Cup season.
The 23-year-old emerged the grand winner of this year's FA Cup awards ceremony heled at the State Banquet Hall in Accra on Saturday night.
Ainooson beat the competition of top scorer Elvis Opoku, Premier League MVP Augustine Okrah and his own teammate Issa Yakubu to win the flagship award.
He also completed a brace of awards by clinching the Best Defender of the competition as well.
But the ex New Edubiase stopper says he wants to do more in the coming season to prove his achieved accolades were no fluke.
“I am very happy to win these awards but I want to do even more this season to prove that I deserve them,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.
“I want to thank everyone at Kotoko – the playing body and coaches who gave me a lot of confidence during the season.
“It is amazing where I am now in my career and I hope it gets even better from the coming season.”
Ainooson played for Ghana at the 2014 CHAN tournament staged in South Africa where the home-based Black Stars team finished as runner's up to Libya.
