"They tell him lies always": Otumfour doesn't get good advice on Kotoko - Opoku Nti

Asante Kotoko team manger Opoku Afriyie says some officials of the club lie to club owner Otumfour Osei Tutu about the day-to-day running of the club.

The King of the Ashanti kingdom is irked by the decision of the club to sell several players to foreign team at the detriment of the club's progress in the Champions League. The life patron has reportedly called for management to account for the sale of these players in the wake of the agitations by some fans.

However, Opoku Afriyie believes the life patron of the club is not been told the truth about the affairs of the club and the reasons players are sold from the club.

"People closer to Otumfour do not say the truth about the way the club (Kotoko) is being managed," Opoku Afriyie told allsports.com.com. "He doesn't get good advice on Kotokp."

"If anyone gets the chance to be part of the Kotoko team, then he will go on to tell lies about the club to Otumfour. Otumfour is not only thinking about Kotoko, he does a lot of things to help the Ashanti kingdom."

"I am not very close to him to tell him about all these things. But if anybody has something good about the club, i can take that person to the King so he can tap his knowledge."

Kotoko on Monday tied coach Mas-Ud Dramani on one year contract.

The Porcupine Warriors will be hoping to defend the domestic diadem as well as the FA Cup in the new season that is tentatively scheduled to kick-off late September.
