Defender Philip Boampong has returned to Hearts of Oak after an unsuccessful trial at Major League Soccer side Chicago Fire.
The centre-back joined Hearts in January on a suspended contract pending the outcome of his trip to the US.
Boampong joined his Hearts teammates in training this week and could be handed playing time against Heart of Lions in Accra on Sunday.
With defender Abraziz Abankwa out with a thigh injury, head coach Mohammed Polo could turn to the former Ghana U20 player for cover.
“I am happy to be back here because I want to help the team,” Boampong told Hearts News.
“I have only trained for a few days but I am already hoping to play in our next game against Lions. That decision depends on the coaches but I hope my play at training will convince them.”
