Finnish champions Helsingin Jalkapalloklubi [HJK] Helsinki have announced the signing of Ghana defender Gideon Baah on a three-year deal.
The 22-year-old had a successful stint at FC Honka, where he was named in the Finnish team of the month on three different occasions as well as named as one of the top five players at the end of the first round. He also participated in the UEFA Europa League, and crowned an eventful season by being named defender of the year.
Having signed a permanent deal with the side after an initial loan deal from Ghana Premier League champions Kotoko, he helped Honka secure second place at the end of the season in the Finnish Veikkausliga, appearing in all but one league game and scoring twice.
Widely known in Ghana as having been the first winner of the popular tv reality football series MTN Soccer Academy, he now joins the 26-time Finnish champions with a chance of participating in the UEFA Champions League next season.
