The management of Glo Premier League champions Asante Kotoko is on the verge of signing Medeama winger Richard Mpong for the 2012/13 league season, DAILY GUIDE SPORTS understands.
The player has almost completed all transfer formalities and is yearning to join the growing list of new recruits for the Red Army, a probe into the club's transfer shopping has revealed.
'We are in talks with him and everything looks positive that he will be part of our plans for the coming season. The deal is almost through,' club PRO Listowell Yesu Bukerson said in a telephone interview.
Mpong debuted for the senior national soccer side, the Black Stars against Chile early this year.
Meanwhile, Kotoko will engage All Blacks in a friendly tomorrow at Swedru as part of preparations for the league and other assignments.
Revelations from the Garden City-based club indicate that the long awaited 14-seater mini bus pledge for winning the 2011/12 season league is ready for official hand over.
The bus is currently being branded (by Glo) before being handed over to the Porcupine Warriors.
