Chelsea Deny Ahly Hotel Claims

The operations director of Berekum Chelsea Nana Oduro Sarfo has denied claims by their guests Al-Ahly that the Ghanaian club had offered them a sub-standard hotel, ahead of their Group B clash of the Africa Champions League encounter.

The North Africans were said to have shunned a hotel (Lincoln Hotel) offered by Chelsea saying it was a 2-star hotel.

As a result, the six-time champions had looked elsewhere to pitch camp ahead of Sunday's CAF Champions League return leg, and indications are that they are currently based at the Oak Royal Hotel in Tema.

“Chelsea management booked us in a hotel which is of low standard and we have totally rejected it,” Ahly's director of football Syed Abdul Hafeez was quoted as saying.

“We demand reciprocity, especially as we gave Chelsea a four-star hotel in Cairo,” he added.

But Oduro Sarfo, who is also the club's Accra representative, rubbished Ahly's claims, saying, 'It is not true my brother that Lincoln Hotel is a 2-star hotel. You can google to find out for yourself.

'I hear they have checked in at Oak Royal Hotel, and I don't know why they are behaving as such,' he added.

DAILY GUIDE SPORTS' checks revealed that the said hotel is not a sub standard hotel as the guests claim.

Lincoln hotel ranks in the same category as Alisa Hotel, Coconut Grove Regency, PH Hotel, Airport View Hotel etc.
