Udinese captain Antonio Di Natale has signed a one-year contract extension with the Serie A club.
Di Natale's previous deal would have expired next year but his new deal will take the Italy striker through until the end of the 2013/14 season.
A statement from Udinese read: "Udinese Calcio announces, with satisfaction, that it has extended the agreement with captain Antonio Di Natale for a further season. The contract will expire on 30 June 2014."
The 34-year old forward was pivotal in helping Udinese clinch third spot in Serie A last season, finishing as the top Italian scorer in the league with 23 goals.
Di Natale was a member of the Italy UEFA EURO 2012 squad that finished as runners-up, and was notable for scoring the only goal conceded by eventual champions Spain in the whole tournament, in a 1-1 draw between the sides in the group stage.
