Boye Feels No Pressure To Impress At Black Stars

John Boye insists he feels no pressure as the most reliable defender in the Black Stars.

The 25-year-old emerged as one of Ghana's best players during the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

The massive surge in form of the Stade Renne stopper has translated into heightened expectations of him as the Black Stars open their 2014 World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zambia.s

But the former Heart of Lions player says he is not pressured to live up to his billing but is only concentrated on improving his game.

'I haven't done enough yet, I have a long way to go,' he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

'I just want to concentrate and put in my best because there is more room for improvement.

'I am here for business so I just come in and do what I have to do and leave the rest to the public to judge.'

Boye is expected to play a key role in the opening 2014 World Cup qualifiers especially in the absence of captain John Mensah.

Ghana hosts Lesotho in Kumasi on June 1 before traveling to take on African champions Zambia a week later.
