Accra , April 30, GNA - A goalless draw with relegation threatened Berekum Arsenals was enough to wrap up Kumasi Asante Kotoko as the season's champions of the Glo Premier League with four games to end the season.

The draw which pushed Kotoko's unbeaten run to 14 games, also fetched them their 22 second Premier League title and to dethrone Berekum Chelsea and annex their first since the 2007/08 football season.

The result opened a 15-point gab ahead of Obuasi-based AshantiGold whose 3-1 defeat to Liberty Professionals in Accra on Sunday confined them to second place with 12 points to fight for in the remaining four games to draw the curtains down on the season .

The 'Porcupine Warriors', two-time African champions will have another opportunity of returning to the African Champions League after three years absence.

Elsewhere Aduana Stars clawed back from a goal down to beat Bechem United 2-1 at the Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa.

Bechem United sitting deep in the relegation zone, went into the game in search of the maximum points to give hope to their battle for Premiership survival alive as they drew first blood through Abubakar Mahadi in the 14th minute and held on throughout the first half.

The host, however, returned for the second half stronger with Emmanuel Akuoko pulling even for Aduana in 60 minutes before Daniel Darkwah added another to wrap up victory for Aduana Stars eight minutes on.

In Wa, All Stars worsened the plight of Kpando Heart of Lions poor season by beating them by a lone goal. Frank Sarfo Gyamfi's 73rd minute strike made the difference for the host who are pushing for a top four finish.

Medeama SC sent Tema Youth home empty handed after beating the visitors 1-0 at Tarkwa. Former Kotoko and Hearts striker, Louis Agyemang scored on 16 minutes to gift the host all three points in the game played at the Tarkwa T&A Park to sink the Port City lads into the the relegation blues.

Goal king aspirant, Emmanuel Baffour took a step towards breaking the 11-year old record set by Ishmael Addo after pushing his goal tally to 21 in Edubiase's 2-0 win over visiting Accra Hearts of Oak at Bekwai.

Baffour will need to score just once in the last four League matches to equal Addo's 2000/2001 season's record.

After the 23-year old Baffour opened the scores in the 48 minutes to take his tally to 21 goals in 26 games, Basit Adams consolidated the lead for Edubiase in the 73rd minute to send the Phobians back home empty handed.

Visiting AshantiGold failed in their bid to extend their unbeaten run to 11 matches after Liberty Professionals deafeated the Miners 3-1 in Dansoman.

Francis Morton, goalkeeper Daniel Agyei and Latif Salifu scored to gift the host all three points. AshantiGold consolation came from Didier Kore.
