The Ghana Football Association is delighted over news that Andre Ayew has undergone a successful shoulder surgery in France.
The 22-year-old went to hospital in Lyon on Tuesday to undergo tests before having an operation on the shoulder.
"We are delighted the operation went so smoothly and successfully," GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi said in a statement on Tuesday.
"Ghanaians are praying for you to recover properly and return to the game you love most.
"At this point all we can say is our thoughts are with you (Andre) and we hope you make a speedy recovery."
Ayew is expected to be out of action for for about three months.
He will miss Ghana's World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zambia in June.
