
Ghana U20 coach Sellas Tetteh has become the first Ghanaian football trainer in Africa to land a personal sponsorship deal after clinching a deal with MTN.
The U20 World Cup winning coach has signed a two-year deal to promote the products of the continental communication giants.
Even though figure of the deal is not available is it believed the deal could earn him about U$ 250,000.
Tetteh, who is the first coach in Africa to have won the U20 World Cup, has already appeared in his first adverts for MTN in newspapers in Ghana.
The advert shows Tetteh mentoring a football prospect who is decked out on MTN colours.
The Liberty Professionals boss is expected to also write a column for the official football news website of MTN.
He is the third football figure in Ghana to have clinched a deal with the telecoms company.
Inspirational Ghana captain Stephen Appiah and Chelsea star Micahel Essien are all ambassadors of MTN as they promote activities of the company.
Tetteh is highly fancied to win the 2009 Africa Coach of the Year after guiding the Black Satellites sweep the titles including the Wafu, Africa and World Cup trophies.
