Ghana coach Milovan Rajeavc says injured midfielder Anthony Annan could be ready to play for when the African Cup of Nations starts next month.

The Norway-based enforcer did not train with the team on Tuesday because of a strain which sparked fears that he could join the Black Stars mounting injury list.

But he had a light training session alone on Wednesday night under the supervision of Ghana team doctors at the training camp in South Africa.

"He has some slight pain and is not training with full intensity but he will be okay," Rajevac said.

"He is recovering well and our hope is that he will be 100% ready."

Several players including captain Stephen Appiah, Laryea Kingston and John Paintsil have all been ruled out of the Angola tournament and John Mensah remains a doubt.

Meanwhile, Rajevac has confirmed that Spanish side Getafe are reluctant to release Dereck Boateng who was called up to replace Paintsil.

Ghana sent the invitation yesterday after Paintsil's late injury but Getafe say the invitation falls outside the date recommended by Fifa for release of players.
