Coach Csaba Laszlo has challenged Ghanaian star Laryea Kingston to show the steely character of Hearts skipper Michael Stewart if he wants to win over the Tynecastle boo-boys.
The Jambos faithful turned on the midfielder after he limped off injured three minutes from the end of the scoreless draw with Dundee United to leave Hearts with only 10 men as all three subs had been used.
The Ghanaian's commitment has been called into question this season after he travelled to represent his country for a friendly international despite having been injured for Hearts.
The club versus country row resulted in a frosty relationship with the fans at Tynecastle and it boiled over yesterday towards the end of the match after the home side were let off the hook - United sub Danny Cadamarteri seeing his penalty saved by Marian Kello.
Fans jeered and chanted "Kingston, Kingston get to f***" but Laszlo wants the player to take a leaf out of his captain's book after he suffered similar treatment against Falkirk earlier in the season.
The Tynecastle boss - now with just three wins in 15 SPL games - said: "I always like to protect my players and Laryea told me he was injured and couldn't continue so he had to come out.
"I didn't have the chance to bring another player on which was maybe a bit unlucky because it meant we had to play the last couple of minutes with 10 men. But we showed we were a team.
"The fans must show patience. They want to see players who give everything for the jersey and fight. Stewart is the best example. He was booed off but his reaction was to show he was part of the Hearts family.
"He rose at Celtic in the next game to take the responsibility to shoot Hearts into the semi-finals of the cup.
"He played a fantastic game and what happened between the fans and Michael Stewart? They often be off in against applauded him. That must be the answer for Kingston."
Stewart's commitment can often be extreme and he was sent off in last week's shame game against Hamilton.
