Black Stars defender Nana Akwasi Asare bid farewell to his Belgian side KV Mechelen on Friday night as he announced his move to Dutch side FC Utrecht.
The 22-year-old has agreed a four-year deal and will join the Europa league contenders in the summer.
He had a standing ovation from the Mechelen fans when he was substituted after 78 minutes in their 3-0 home win over KSC Lokeren OV.
Asare was linked with a host of clubs including Belgian giants Anderlecht after impressing this term at the club.
The left-back joined Mechelen in 2005 from second division side Royal Antwerp but signed a permanent deal in 2007 and was contracted until 2011.
Utrecht placed ninth in the Eredivisie will play FC Groningen in the play-offs for the Europa League(Uefa Cup).
Asare will join compatriot Francis Dickoh at the club.
