The Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr Emmanuel Asamoah Owusu–Ansah
and his deputy, Mr Ossei- Assibey Antwi, have submitted their nomination forms to the Kwabere West and Manhyia constituencies respectively to contest the NPP primaries.
The deputy minister accompanied the regional minister, who is the sitting Member of Parliament (MP) for Kwabre West, to Kodie, the headquarters of the Kwabere-West Constituency, to submit his forms.
After receiving the nomination, the Constituency Chairman, Nana Appiah-Kubi, advised candidates contesting the primaries at the various constituency to realize that they were all in the same party and must, refrain from acts that would tarnish the reputation of the party.
Mr Owusu-Ansah said it was the electorate that elected him to be their representative in Parliament and “I have, therefore once again come to seek their mandate so as to continue with my pragmatic policies
and programmes to enhance the area's development effort”.
He thanked the people for the confidence reposed in him and assured them that when he was given the nod he would continue to work hard to develop the area.
The regional minister also accompanied his deputy, Mr Antwi, to Manhyia, where he submitted his nomination forms to Nana Osei-Mensah, the Constitituency Chairman.
Mr Antwi said delegates were looking for a candidate who was committed, loyal and had also contributed meaningfully to the party's development.
He stated that he served the party at the ward and polling station levels before being elected as the first regional vice-chairman.
