Medeama SC coach Ibrahim Tanko insists his side will maintain their attacking style when they travel to Kumasi to face Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.
The Yellow and Mauve outfit will take on the Porcupine Warriors at the Baba Yara Stadium in a Matchday Nine encounter, with kick-off scheduled for 15:00 GMT.
Tanko expects an entertaining contest against the Kumasi-based giants but believes Medeama's impressive record in last season's meetings will provide his players with the confidence to secure a positive result.
Medeama picked up a point in their visit to Kumasi last season before recording a convincing 4-0 victory over Kotoko in the reverse fixture.
"I think it's always very good and exciting to play against them, especially in Kumasi. And yeah, as I said, last year was good for us, and we won a point there and then beat them 4-0 at home," Tanko said.
The former Ghana international believes Kotoko will be determined to avenge those results and will approach Sunday's encounter with a strong desire to claim all three points.
"So definitely, it's at the back of their minds. So they are preparing very well to meet us," he added.
Despite acknowledging the challenge of playing at the Baba Yara Stadium, Tanko insists Medeama will not abandon their philosophy or adjust their approach because of the venue.
"And, like I always say, we don't change our style of play, whether at home or away. So definitely, we are going there to fight for something," he said.
Kotoko will also be desperate for a response after being held to a 1-1 draw by AshantiGold in their previous outing.
The Porcupine Warriors currently occupy eighth position with 12 points and will be hoping to use home advantage to secure a crucial victory and close the gap on the teams above them.
Medeama, meanwhile, will be looking to maintain their strong start to the campaign as they prepare for one of the biggest tests of their season.
