David Gyamfi scored the first hat-trick of the 2026-27 Ghana Premier League season as FC Ashantigold claimed their maiden top-flight victory with a 3-1 win over Vision FC in Obuasi.
The newly promoted side continued their impressive start under Karim Zito, with Gyamfi stealing the show at the Len Clay Stadium on Saturday.
The forward opened the scoring after just seven minutes, calmly finishing to hand Ashantigold an early lead in front of their home fans.
Vision FC hit back through Sheriff Mohammed Iddrisu, whose superb free-kick levelled the contest and briefly halted the hosts' momentum.
Ashantigold responded almost immediately, with Gyamfi restoring their advantage before completing a memorable first-half hat-trick in the 45th minute to send the hosts into the break with a commanding 3-1 lead.
His treble is the first recorded in the Ghana Premier League this season and caps a dream afternoon for the debutants.
After opening their campaign with a draw away to Port City, Ashantigold now have four points from their first two matches as Zito's side make an encouraging start to life in the top flight.
