Late herbal doctor’s wife granted GH¢100,000 bail amid poisoning, arson claims

Mrs Charlotte Siaw, the widow of a herbal doctor who died in a fire at his Kasoa residence, has reportedly been granted bail of GH¢100,000 without surety following her arrest over the death of her husband, Mr Felix Antwi.

The couple had been married for 42 years before Mr Antwi died in the fire under circumstances that have sparked suspicion among his family members.

Reports indicate that shortly before his death, Mr Antwi went to the police to accuse his wife and two houseboys of allegedly poisoning him.

He died the following day after a fire broke out at the couple’s residence. Mrs Siaw, who was said to be at home when the incident occurred, reportedly escaped unharmed.

Questions surrounding the death deepened after investigations and an autopsy allegedly indicated that Mr Antwi had suffered an assault before his body was burnt.

The findings reportedly prompted the arrest of Mrs Siaw and the two houseboys as the police continued efforts to establish what happened.

However, the deceased’s children are said to be unhappy with the decision to grant Mrs Siaw bail. The family has reportedly called for her re-arrest and further investigations into the circumstances of their father’s death.

Authorities are continuing with the case as they seek to determine the events that led to Mr Antwi’s death and the fire at the residence.
