I don't think we did enough to win this game - Kotoko coach Eric Tinkler after draw with Debibi United

Asante Kotoko head coach Eric Tinkler has described his side's performance as “very poor” after they were held to a 2-2 draw by Ghana Premier League newcomers Debibi United.

The Porcupine Warriors took an early lead at the Golden City Park in Berekum when Yakubu Dogo scored after 15 minutes.

However, Debibi United responded strongly after the break, with Richard Owusu scoring twice to put the hosts 2-1 ahead.

Hubert Gyau rescued a point for Kotoko when he equalised in the 79th minute.

Tinkler was critical of his team's display, particularly their performance in possession.

“I don't think we did enough to win this game,” Tinkler said after the match.

“The performance itself, I'm not entirely happy. On the ball, we were very poor, not good enough in terms of our composure.

“We kept giving the ball away and we made it very difficult for ourselves. A draw is a fair outcome.”

The result leaves Kotoko seventh in the league table after the opening round of fixtures.
