Kwasi Sibo set to join Libyan side Al-Swehly after leaving Real Oviedo

Ghana international Kwasi Sibo is set to join Libyan champions Al-Swehly after leaving Spanish side Real Oviedo.

The midfielder has arrived in Cairo to link up with his new teammates as they prepare for the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.

Sibo is expected to undergo his medical on Monday before completing his move to the Libyan club.

The 27-year-old has agreed a three-year contract with Al-Swehly, who won the Libyan league last season and will represent the country in Africa's premier club competition.

Sibo had attracted interest from Egyptian giants Al Ahly but opted to continue his career in Libya.

The move comes after Sibo's involvement with Ghana at the 2026 Fifa World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

He played 12 minutes in Ghana's opening group game against Panama before featuring for the full 90 minutes in the goalless draw with England.

Sibo then played 85 minutes in the 2-1 defeat by Croatia and 62 minutes in Ghana's 1-0 loss to Colombia in the round of 32.

He finished the tournament with 249 minutes of playing time.

Sibo's move to Al-Swehly will allow him to compete in the Champions League as the Libyan champions begin their continental campaign.
