Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko says the club's ambition is to win the 2026/27 CAF Champions League after securing the Ghana Premier League title last season.
The Yellow and Mauve will represent Ghana in Africa's premier club competition after being crowned champions of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League.
Medeama have been drawn against DR Congo giants TP Mazembe in the first round of the preliminary stage, setting up a challenging opening to their continental campaign.
But Tanko, a former Black Stars assistant coach, says Medeama are not entering the competition simply to participate, insisting that winning the trophy is the club's ultimate target.
"We are going there as one of the teams to compete, and so winning the CAF Champions League is our objective," he told Asempa FM.
Medeama will host Mazembe in the first leg at the TNA Park on 5 September, with the return leg scheduled for 13 September in DR Congo.
Both matches are due to kick off at 15:00 GMT.
The Ghanaian champions will be hoping to carry their domestic success into Africa as they look to make a strong impression in the CAF Champions League and establish themselves among the continent's leading clubs.
