Ghanaian midfielder Fatawu Ganiwu has completed his move to Ukrainian giants Dynamo Kyiv, signing a three-year contract with the club.

The highly rated youngster joins Dynamo Kyiv from Ghanaian side AS Koppan FC after attracting interest from several notable European clubs, including Chelsea, Red Bull Salzburg, RC Lens, Brentford and Bournemouth.

Ganiwu first gained widespread international recognition during the April 2023 UEFA U-16 Invitational Tournament in Serbia, where he played a key role in Ghana’s impressive campaign.

The midfielder anchored the Black Starlets’ midfield as Ghana recorded victories over hosts Serbia, Spain and Switzerland to emerge winners of the tournament.

His performances at youth level earned him further opportunities with the national teams, having represented Ghana at both the Under-17 and Under-20 levels.

Ganiwu’s development has also been closely monitored by clubs across Europe, with the youngster having had opportunities to train and undergo trials with several top sides before eventually securing his move to Dynamo Kyiv.

The transfer represents another significant step in the promising midfielder’s career as he begins a new chapter with one of Ukraine’s most successful clubs.

At Dynamo Kyiv, Ganiwu is expected to gain valuable experience and exposure to European football while continuing his development at both club and international level.

His move also adds to the growing number of young Ghanaian talents seeking to establish themselves in European football, with Ganiwu now aiming to make the most of his opportunity in Ukraine.
