2026 WAFCON: Black Queens arrive in Morocco for pre-tournament camping ahead of tourney

The Black Queens have arrived in Morocco to begin the final phase of their preparations for the 2026 TotalEnergies CAF Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), with head coach Kim Lars Björkegren overseeing the team's pre-tournament training camp.

A total of 18 players have reported to camp as the technical team kicks off its preparations ahead of the continental showpiece. The camp is expected to provide the foundation for the squad's final build-up before the tournament gets underway.

The Ghanaian side arrived in high spirits and will use the training camp to sharpen tactical approaches, improve match fitness and strengthen team chemistry as they aim to make a strong impression at the competition.

The remaining invited players are expected to join the squad in the coming days, with the camp set to reach full capacity before the team begins its official tournament preparations.

Ghana has been drawn in Group D of the competition, where the Black Queens will take on Cape Verde, Mali and Cameroon in the race for a place in the knockout stage.

The Black Queens will take on Côte d'Ivoire today, July 14, 2026, as part of their preparation ahead of the start of the tournament.

The Black Queens will be hoping to make a successful return to the Women's Africa Cup of Nations and challenge for continental honours after securing qualification for the tournament.
